Calder Class Intra-House Orienteering

After 4 weeks of developing their orienteering skills around the school grounds, the Year 5 children competed in House teams in an Intra-House Orienteering Competition.

With a course set up in the woodland the children worked in teams of 3 to find the different checkpoint markers in the fastest time possible.

They used maps effectively to help them figure out where the markers were.

Teams were then ranked based on the number of markers they found and the time they did it in.

After all the calculations were done Matthew House claimed victory narrowly beating Mark House in 2nd place.

Well done to all the children and hopefully we will have success at the Level 2 orienteering competition in a few weeks time.
