 Nidd - Multi skills

On Monday 7th March, Mr Wilson, Mrs Oultram and Miss Merrin took our Reception class (Nidd) up to St John Fishers High School to take part in a Multi-skills competition. Everybody had a fantastic time - they all ran, and threw & jumped brilliantly!!! Look on Nidd's class page for more photo's.

Hockey

After progressing through to the Harrogate Partnership Final with a 100% win record St. Mary’s Hockey team were confident they could challenge for the trophy. In each game they played they battled fantastically as a team determined to win against some tough opposition.

After 5 games played St. Mary’s finished level on points in 1st place with 4 wins and 1 draw.

Unfortunately the tournament winner was decided on most goals scored, with Ripley out scoring us by 15 goals. This meant St. Mary’s had to settle for 2nd place but can be massively proud of their efforts, having played 11 games over two tournaments winning 10 and drawing 1.

 Cross Country

Several of our children went to Dalby Forest to take part in a Cross Country competition, the competition was extremely tough, but everybody performed well and Johannes came a very impressive 3rd!! Well done to all of you!

Orienteering

St Mary’s Year 4 boys and girls teams tasted success in the Knaresborough round of the HSSP Orienteering event. The competition, held at Aspin Primary School, involved children individually finding checkpoints using a map in the fastest time possible. The children's’ scores were then calculated to give a team total.

In the girls event the two St. Mary’s teams finished in 1st and 2nd Place with the boys team also taking Gold in their event.

These teams will now progress through to the Harrogate area final later in the year.

Well done to all the children who took part in the event, they performed excellently showing great teamwork and determination to win.
